About The One Kingdom Campaign
“The Church is called to make the invisible kingdom of God visible in our midst.”
John Calvin
In a world torn apart by polarization, politicization, and injustice, the Church itself is being torn asunder, divided for power and profit. The time is critical. And it has never been more important for the Church to be the Church.
We believe Christianity Today can serve a meaningful role in reenchanting the Church with Jesus and his kingdom, recasting a captivating vision of what it means to follow Jesus in our time, and rebuilding a community around that vision.
THREE INITIATIVES
Will you join us in seeing One kingDOM come in greater ways over the next decade?
The One Kingdom Campaign seeks to raise $28 million between 2024 and 2026, the 70th anniversary of Christianity Today, to empower three initiatives: The Global Initiative, The Next Gen Initiative, and The Big Tent Initiative. Each of these initiatives aims to broaden and deepen the difference we make in the world.
You are warmly invited to give a generous unrestricted gift we can direct where needed most, but if it aligns with your passions and gives you greater joy then gifts can go directly to the initiative of your choice. Together, we can unite believers across the continents, across the generations, and across the lines that divide us.
Our Ministry’s History
Founded by Billy Graham in 1956
Since 1956, Christianity Today has been a storyteller of the global Church, advancing the stories and ideas of the kingdom of God.
A Flag to Follow for Believers
From its founding by Billy Graham, CT set out to become, in Graham’s words, a “flag to follow” for believers who did not feel at home in progressive mainline congregations or in reactionary fundamentalist settings.
Advancing the Stories and Ideas of the Kingdom of God
It would “restore intellectual respectability and spiritual impact to evangelical Christianity.”
Why One Kingdom?
Why Now?
Our time is critical—humankind is in upheaval and wisdom and compassion are scarce. The collapse of institutions and the impoverishment of community have led to new identities, new tribes, and new enmities. The polarization of media and the rise of viral culture have produced a crisis of knowledge that is stoking confusion and extremism.
Even more, we find the Church itself torn apart. We are persecuted overseas, polarized at home, and all too often undermined by our own sinfulness and immaturity. We are losing millions of Church members every year—especially among the young.
It has never been more important for the Church to be the Church.
It has never been more important to Seek the Kingdom.
OUR MINIStry
40 Million People Reached per Year
Christianity Today is a global ministry that reaches 40 million people a year across all media, advancing every single day the stories and ideas of the kingdom of God. We steward a remarkable legacy, but we are even more excited about our future than our past. This is a season of innovation and new growth.
With in-depth reporting and striking commentary, redemptive storytelling and global perspective, groundbreaking podcasts and dynamic talent, we have shown that we can shift the conversation.
In the midst of unprecedented challenges in our culture and world, Christianity Today’s One Kingdom Campaign will join with God in uplifting what is good, overcoming what is evil, and healing what is broken. CT will be a unifying voice, a rallying point, and a generative community for Christians to be inspired, strengthened, and equipped to serve a world in desperate need of the kingdom of God.
“Christianity Today Models How to Live Out One’s Faith in the World. I appreciate both the biblical perspective and intellectual rigor.”
